Freshman Parents and Guardians: Seminole Public Schools will be having an informational meeting for the Early Associates Program this Thursday at the BLS cafeteria at 5:30 p.m.

The blue and brown bus routes will be running late this afternoon. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Seminole Public Schools will delay the start of classes this morning until 11:05 a.m. Bus routes will begin running at 10:00 a.m.

The shelter in place order has been lifted. Students will resume their day as usual. We will remain vigilant in watching the weather conditions.

Students are now all in safe places. Since we are sheltering in place, you will not be permitted to pick up your student. When the order is lifted, we will send a message when you can pick up your student. Thank you for understanding.

Tornado warning has been issued for our area. All students are now being moved to their safe spaces—shelter in place orders. Students will not be able to be picked up since they are in safe places.

SPS administration is watching weather closely and are concerned about a second wave that may impact Seminole. We are ready to quickly move to safe spaces. Please know that if you feel the need to pick up your child, they will not be penalized and work will be made up.

In accordance with the guidance from local law enforcement, the soft lockdown has now been lifted. This decision comes after a thorough assessment of the situation, ensuring that safety protocols are in place. Moving forward, local law enforcement agencies will be increasing their patrols at the schools to enhance visibility and provide a reassuring presence. The collaboration between law enforcement, the school, and the community is essential for ensuring ongoing safety. We appreciate our partnership with local agencies during this time. Thank you for your vigilance and support.

Law enforcement including SPS school resource officers are investigating social media posts of threats to schools. Seminole Schools are not specifically mentioned in the threats, however all SPS sites are on immediate soft lockdown while the investigation is underway.

At 12:00 p.m., Seminole Middle School initiated a Soft Lockdown in response to a suspicious person outside a classroom window. The School Resource Officer and Principal approached the individual, who claimed they were using the school’s Wi-Fi. After confirming there was no threat, the individual was asked to leave, and the Soft Lockdown was lifted at 12:05 p.m.
